Service Description

A stroke or CVA can cause temporary or permanent weakness on one side of the body .It can also affect balance ,vision, memory, speech, and cognition, and cause other complications such as muscle spasm and pain. Our team (Occupational therapist and Physiotherapist) have an advanced training and extensive experience with people who has been affected by stroke , brain injury and other neurological conditions. Our main goal is to educate clients and their families about rehabilitation. Our treatment sessions focus on giving patients and their families the effective exercises and activities that needs to be carried out to maximise functional progress forward increasing independence. Occupational Therapy program focuses on addressing self-care, cognitive, physical, emotional, changes brought on by a stroke or other neurological conditions. Goals: • Maximise functional independence. • Improve balance and tolerance. • Upper limb rehabilitation. • Prevent further tightness and contractures of upper limb (shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers and thumb) • Resource and provide a hand or upper limb splint suitable for your need. • Wheelchair and Seating assessment. • Community access/community living activities. • Pressure care and advise a suitable cushion for your needs.. • Re-building self-confidence and self esteem
